The boutique hotel Cigarral de las Mercedes in Toledo has been conceived by the Requena y Plaza’s studio taking “cicadas” as a concept in reference to the manor farms typical of Toledo. Originating from the Islamic period, they are characterized by their views of the imposing city of the three cultures.

Designed to be a rural accommodation of luxury and relaxation with 16 rooms, each space has been given its own personality in terms of design and sophistication, where each element is designed for the guests’ comfort.

The interior design has been taken towards a more contemporary and unorthodox style, in which materials and elements of rustic origin are combined with refined luxury elements. Requena y Plaza’s studio has been based on a neutral color palette following the range of limestones, matt oak carpentry and textiles such as linens. A project that combines respect for the natural environment with luxury and in which Ferrcos has had the pleasure of collaborating.
